Shiv Mandirs. 

Aside from the major Shiv temples, Shivalingas are commonly found in villages, forests and jungles in small temples. This is one of my most favored qualities of Shivji. He likes to reside in solitude, in oftentimes distant and remote places. Unlike the major temples where the doors are shut every few hours, here the mandirs are open for continuos worship, they allow one to come to His divine doorstep at any time for they are never closed. Here you may even touch the Shivlingam, offer your respects and take the personal blessing of the Lord. The smallest offering of water, flowers, and bilva leaves bestows the full blessings of Shivji upon the worshipper. Out of his mercy he becomes easily accessible to the common layman, he becomes, karunavataram.
